A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA APPROVING A NEW ALIGNMENT FOR
CAMERON AVENUE BETWEEN BARRANCA STREET.AND
GRAND AVENUE AND ESTABLISHING A POLICY OF
PROTECTING THE RIGHT OF WAY AND SLOPE EASEMENT'S
NEEDED FOR IT
WHEREAS, the County Road Department has made a project
report dated September 30, 1965, establishing a new alignment for
Cameron Avenue between Barranca Street and Grand Avenue and showing
the right of way and slope easements needed for it, and
WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles has requested that the
City review and approve the above -mentioned report and take action to
protect the right of way and slope easements needed for the road re-
construction, and
WHEREAS, the County has agreed to perform preliminary
engineering for the street construction project as well as protect
the right of way and slope easements needed in the County areas,
• WHEREAS, this street is presently narrow and curving
with a heavy traffic load (5100ADT).and a high accident rate,
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council
approves the above -mentioned project report for Cameron Avenue and
be it further resolved that the City Council establishes a policy of
conforming to the right of way and slope easements established in the
report whenever private development occurs within the City limits as
they may be at the time of such private development, and '
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County of Los Angeles
is requested and urged to budget for, acquire right-of-way for and
construct this street as soon as possible, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Staff is authorized
to transmit a copy of this resolution to the Board of Supervisors and
