A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA CONSENTING TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF
PROCEEDINGS FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN INHABITED
TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS SOUTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT
NO. 195.
WHEREAS, on March 7, 1966, a Petition on file in the office
of the City Clerk of the City of West Covina was presented to the City
Council of the City of West Covina requesting the Council to give its
consent to the commencement of annexation proceedings in connection with
that certain inhabited territory therein referred to and generally des-
cribed, which is contiguous to the City of West Covina; and
WHEREAS, said petition was referred to the Planning Commission
of the City of West Covina for investigation, report and recommendation;
and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission rendered its report and
recommendation to the Council on the 28th day of March, 1966, favoring
the commencement of annexation oroceedinas: and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to give its
consent to the commencement of such annexation proceedings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of West Covina:
1. That consent be and hereby is granted for the commence-
ment of annexation proceedings in connection with said inhabited terri-
tory in accordance with the Annexation Act of 1913.
2. That said unincorporated territory be and hereby is
designated as Southerly Annexation District No. 195, and is described
as follows:
That portion of the Rancho La Puente in the County of
Los Angeles,.State of California, as per map recorded
in Book 1, Pages 43 and 44 of patents in the office of
the County Recorder of said county;
Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of Amar
Road and the westerly boundary of the City of West Covina
as same existed on September 19, 1963, with the certifi-
cation of Annexation 181 (Ordinance 815), thence westerly
along the centerline of Amar Road to the intersection
with the centerline of Indian Summer Avenue, thence
northerly along the centerline of Indian Summer Avenue
to the intersection with the centerline of Maplegrove
Street, thence easterly along the centerline of Maplegrove
Street to the intersection with the southerly prolongation
of the east line of lots 135 and 136 of Tract 18081 in
the County of Los Angeles, State of California, as per
map recorded in Book 533, Pages 48 and 49 of maps in the
office of the County Recorder of said county, thence
northerly along said southerly prolongation and northerly
along said east lines of lots 135 and 136 to the inter-
section with the south line of Benwick Street as shown
on said Tract 18081, said point of intersection being on
a tangent curve concave to the west and having a radius
of 38 feet, thence northeasterly, northerly and northwesterly
along said curve to the intersection with the east line of
lot 106 of said tract, thence northerly along said east line
of lot 106 and northerly along the east line of lot 105
of said tract and the northerly prolongation of the east
line of lot 105 to the intersection with the centerline
of Fellowship Street 60 feet wide as shown on said tract,
thence easterly along the centerline of Fellowship Street
to the intersection with the centerline of Valinda Avenue
80 feet wide as shown on said Tract 18081, thence southerly
• along the centerline of Valinda Avenue to the intersection
with the westerly prolongation of the south line of lot 14
of Tract 15281 in the County of Los Angeles, State of
California, as per map recorded in Book 331, Page 13 of
maps in the office of the County Recorder of said county,
thence easterly along said westerly prolongation and
easterly along said south line of lot 14 to the inter-
section with the east line of lot 14, thence south along
the southerly prolongation of the east line of lot 14
to the intersection with the centerline of Maplegrove
Street 60 feet wide as shown on said Tract 15281, thence
easterly along the centerline of Maplegrove Street to the
intersection with the centerline of Pass and Covina Road,
thence southerly along the centerline of Pass and Covina
Road to the 'intersection with the westerly prolongation
of the northerly boundary of the City of West Covina as
same existed on the aforementioned Annexation 181, thence
easterly along the westerly prolongation of the northerly
line of the City of West Covina to the point of beginning.
3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution.
