A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA COMMENDING WILLIAM Z. CHAMLEE
FOR HIS SERVICES TO THE CITY
WHEREAS, WILLIAM Z. CHAMLEE was appointed to the City
of West Covina Personnel Board in July of 1963; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure in office the City of West
Covina increased in area and population and consequently in the
number of employees required to provide the necessary services
to the public; and
WHEREAS, the ever increasing number of employees has
required the application of modern techniques in the selection
of new employees and in the continuing effort to improve the
city's personnel system; and
WHEREAS, because of his experience and understanding
of people and their employment problems and his firm belief in
the application of sound principles in resolving those problems,
he contributed much toward improving the operation of the Per-
sonnel Board; and
WHEREAS, his devotion of time and talent toward
resolving the many problems encountered by the Personnel Board
in an efficient and diligent manner has led to City Council
confidence and support of their recommendations; and
WHEREAS, he has rendered valuable assistance to the
City of West Covina;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West
Covina does hereby resolve:
SECTION 1. That the City Council hereby commends
WILLIAM Z. CHAMLEE for his fine contribution toward the develop-
ment of the City of West Covina personnel system and expresses
their appreciation to him on behalf of the employees of this
city for the gratifying results of his efforts.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution and shall transmit a certified copy
thereof to said WILLIAM Z. CHAMLEE..

regular meeting thereof held on the 14th day of March, 1966, by
