A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA ORDERING THE VACATION OF A CERTAIN
PORTION OF SERVICE AVENUE AND RESERVING AND
EXCEPTING IN FAVOR OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA
CERTAIN RIGHTS AND EASEMENTS LOCATED THEREIN
FOR PUBLIC UTILITY AND OTHER PURPOSES
The City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve
as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of West Covina
does hereby find, determine, and declare as follows:
(a) That on the 24th day of January, 1966, at a
regular meeting of said Council, Resolution No. 3303 was duly
adopted by a vote of said Council setting the time for hearing
on the proposed vacation of a certain portion of Service Avenue
located within the City of West Covina;
(b) That said area proposed to be vacated is more
particularly described as follows:
That portion of Service Avenue (60 feet wide) in the
City of West Covina, County of Los Angeles, State of
California, as shown on the Map of Tract No. 17415,
recorded in Book 450, Pages 19 and 20 of Maps, on
• file in the office of the County Recorder of said
County, described as follows:
Beginning on the southwesterly line of said avenue
distant north 4804613711 west 47.24 feet from the
most northerly corner of Lot 1 of said Tract 17415,
thence south 8503211411 east 61.66 feet to a curve
concave to the northeast and having a radius of
230.00 feet, thence southerly along said curve
through a central angle of 1500215811 an arc distance
of 60.41 feet to a point of reverse curve, concave
to the west and having a radius of 15.00 feet,
thence southerly along said reverse curve through a
central angle of 72°56144" an arc distance of 19.10
feet to a point of compound curve, concave to the
northwest and having a radius of 204.00 feet, thence
southwesterly along said compound curve through a
central angle of 30341571, an arc distance of 12.76
feet to a point of.cusp with a tangent curve concave
to the west and having a radius of 15.00 feet,
thence northerly along said curve through a central
angle of 94023'05" an arc distance of 24.71 feet to
the point of tangency on the southwesterly line of
said avenue, thence north 48046'37" west 98.69 feet
to the point of beginning excepting that portion
lying northeasterly of the old center line of Service
Avenue;
SUBJECT TO AND RESERVING AND EXCEPTING from said
vacation the permanent easement and right at any
time, or from time to time, to construct, maintain,
operate, replace, remove, renew and enlarge lines of
pipe, conduits, cables, wires, poles and other con-
venient structures, equipment and fixtures for tele-
graphic and telephone lines, and for the transporta-
tion or distribution of electric energy and water,

including access and the right to keep the property
free from inflammable materials and wood growth and
otherwise protect the same from all hazards in, upon
and over the street or part thereof to be vacated.
(c) That on the 28th day of February, 1966, at a
regular Council meeting, the said City Council did hold a public
hearing to determine whether the said area above -described should
be vacated as a public street.
SECTION 2. It hereby.,is found, determined and declared
by the City Council of the City of West Covina, after hearing the
evidence adduced, that the above -described portion of Service
Avenue within the City of West Covina is not necessary for present
or prospective public street purposes and that the general welfare
and convenience of the City of West Covina require that the same be
vacated and that the said easement and rights be reserved by the
City. The said portion of Service Avenue above -described hereby
is vacated as a public street, excepting and reserving to the
City the rights and easements, as above -described.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and cause the same to be recorded with the
office of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles and to file
all other necessary documents in order that this vacation become
effective.

regular meeting thereof held on the 28th day of February, 1966,
