Resolution - 332711 11 RESOLUTION NO. 3327 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION AND DISPOSITION OF CHARGES FOR SPECIAL RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES. The City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. Charges may be established, made and collected by the Recreation and Park Department from participants in the follow- ing activities in an amount that will pay or reimburse the actual costs of special recreational activities sponsored by said department, except that no charge shall be made to cover the cost of supervision, facilities, or equipment provided for by the annual budgets for recreation and park purposes. The activities for which such charges are authorized shall include, but are not limited to (a) one-time, non -continuing activities such as field trips, seasonal classes, and special events; (b) con- tinuing special activities such as youth and adult clubs; and (c) auxiliary charge services such as coin -operated vending machines, tennis court lights, etc., on facilities administered by the Recreation and Park Department; and (d) service charges to defray the cost of special supplies and maintenance of special equipment not purchased by budgeted funds., SECTION 2. Such charges collected as provided for in Section 1 shall be delivered promptly to the Director of Finance for deposit in the Public Deposits Trust Fund in which shall be maintained a separate account for each activity and service for which charges are collected. Payment out of each account for activities and auxiliary services shall first be made to underwrite the costs of the activity or auxiliary services for which the charges were collected. The excess, if any, may be transferred to a special account within the Public Deposits Trust Fund known as the Recreational Supplies and Equipment Purchases Account. The balance in this account may be used to purchase supplies and equipment that can be shared by the several activities sponsored by the Recreation and Park Department, provided that any such purchase, in excess of Fifty Dollars, is first approved by the Recreation and Park Commission. SECTION 3. Resolution No. 1414, as amended, is hereby repealed. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. Adopted and approved this 28th day of February , 1966.
