A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA
REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES TO INITIATE ACTION FOR
THE EXCHANGE OF CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE CIVIC CENTER.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does hereby resolve
as follows:
SECTION 1. Whereas, there is°currently being planned and
developed in the City of West Covina an administrative center to contain
certain public buildings including a County Courthouse and City Hall,
the developments being carried out jointly by the County of Los Angeles,
and City of West Covina upon lands heretofore acquired and now owned by
each such political subdivision and,
Whereas, for the development of the County's Citrus Court
facility and for development ofthe City's public building and facilities
it is necessary that the Councy and City exchange portions of the property
held by each of them for this purpose and,
Whereas, the property owned by the County is more particularly
described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and by this reference made a
part hereof,
Whereas, the property owned by the City is more particularly
described in Exhibit "B" attached hereto and by this reference made.a
part hereof,
Whereas, the exchange is mutually beneficial to both political
subdivisions concerned,
Now Therefore Be It Resolved, that the City Council hereby
•approves the exchange of said property and the officers of the City
are hereby authorized to execute any instruments necessary to affect
same and,
Be It Further Resolved, that the City requests the County to
initiate and undertake all actions necessary.to effect this transfer, and
Be It Further Resolved, that the staff be authorized to transmit
this resolution to the proper county officials for implementation.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
