A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION OF
SERVICE AVENUE (60 FEET WIDE) SUBJECT TO RESERVATION
AND EXCEPTION OF CERTAIN RIGHTS AND EASEMENTS
The City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve as
follows:
SECTION 1. _The City Council of the City of West Covina does
hereby declare its intention to vacate a portion of Service Avenue
(60 feet wide) in the City of West Covina as shown on a map or plan on
file in the office of the City Clerk to which reference is made for
further particulars; and the City Council hereby finds and determines
that the public convenience and necessity require the reservation of the
following described easements, rights of way and rights which are herein-
after reserved and excepted from said vacation.. Said portion of said
street is described as follows:
That portion of Service Avenue (60 feet wide) in the City of West Covina,
County of Los Angeles, State of California, as shown on the Map of
Tract No. 17415, recorded in Book 450, Pages 19 and 20 of Maps, on file
in the office of the County Recorder of said County, described as follows:
Beginning on the southwesterly line of said avenue distant north 480 46' 37"
west 47.24 feet from the most northerly corner of Lot 1 of said Tract 17415,
thence south 851 32' 14" east 61.66 feet to a curve concave to the north-
east and having a radius of 2,30.00 feet, thence southerly along said curve
through a central angle of 150 02' 58" an arc distance of 60.41 feet to a
point of reverse curve, concave to the west and having a radius of 15.00
feet, thence southerly along said reverse curve through a central angle
of 720 56' 44" an arc distance of 19.10 feet to a point of compound curve,
concave to the northwest and having a radius of 204.00 feet, thence
•southwesterly along said compound curve through a central angle of
31 34' 57" an arc distance of 12.76 feet to a point of cusp with a tan-
gent curve concave to the west and having a radius of 15.00 feet, thence
northerly along said curve through a central angle of 940 23' 05" an arc
distance of 24.71 feet to the point of tangency on the southwesterly line
of said avenue, thence north 481 46' 37" west 98.69 feet to the point of
beginning excepting that portion lying northeasterly of the old center
line of Service Avenue;
RESERVING AND EXCEPTING f bm said vacation the permanent easement and
right at any time, or from time to time, to construct, maintain, operate,
replace, remove, renew and enlarge line of pipe, conduits, cables, wires,
poles and other convenient structures, equipment and fixtures for tele-
graphic and telephone lines, and for the transportation or distribution
of electric energy, water, including access and the right to keep the
property free from inflammable materials, and wood growth and otherwise
protect the same from all hazards in, upon and over the street or part
thereof to be vacated.
SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of West Covina does
hereby elect to proceed to vacate a portion of Service Avenue (60 feet
wide) under the provisions of Part 3, Division 9, of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California, subject to the reservations
and exceptions above set forth.
SECTION 3.. The hour of 8:00 P.M. on Monday, the 28th
Way of February , 1966, is hereby fixed as the time, and the Council
Chambers in the City Hall, 1444 West Garvey Avenue, West Covina, California,
is hereby fixed as the place for hearing all persons interested in or
objecting to the proposed vacation of said portion of said street.
SECTION 4. Notice of Street Vacation shall be posted by the
Street Superintendent in the manner prescribed by Section 8322 of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California.
SECTION 5. Resolution No. 3292 is hereby repealed.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution and shall cause the same to be published within fifteen
(15) days of its adoption in one (1) regular issue of the West Covina
OTribune, a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and
circulated in the City of West Covina.
