A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
rt WEST COVINA CONFIRMING THE REPORT OF THE CITY
a. ENGINEER; CONFIRMING THE PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS,
ESTIMATE, DIAGRAM AND ASSESSMENT'CONTAINED IN SAID
REPORT; OVERRULING PROTESTS AND OBJECTIONS IN THE
PROCEEDINGS UNDER.RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 2674,;,'
ORDERING THE WORK AND LEVYING THE ASSESSMENT FOR
SERVICE NECESSARY TO INSTALL, MAINTAIN AND ILLUMINATE
BY ELECTRIC ENERGY THE STREET LIGHTS,AS SHOWN ON SAID ,
`DIAGRAM FOR A PERIOD OF MONTHS ENDINd JUNE 301 1966;
•ORDERING THE CITY CLERK OF SAID CITY TO TRANSMIT
DIAGRAM AND ASSESSMENT TO THE COUNTY'TAX COLLECTOR;
AND EMPOWERING TAX COLLECTOR TO MAKE COLLECTIONS
(Street Lighting Assessment District -No. 62-1)
WHEREAS, the City Engineer of the City of West Covina has
heretofore filed with this City Council his report in writing
dated July 8, 1963, presenting certain matters relating to a pro-
posed lighting district, which report was approved by thie'City
Council on -July 8,.1963,.by Resolution No. 2673; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 2674 adopted July 8, 1963,
this City Council declared its intention to order certain street
lighting improvement to be made under and pursuant to the provi-
sions of the Street'Lighting Act of 1919, Part 1 of Division 14
of the -Streets and Highways Code of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 2675, adopted July 8, 1963,
this City Council designated Monday, August 5, 1963, at the hour
of 8:00 o'clock P. M., in the City Hall, as the time and place for
the hearing of protests and objections in relation to said improve-
ment and assessment, and notices of said hearing were duly posted
and published, and affidavits of said posting and publication
have been duly filed; and
WHEREAS, at the time and place fixed in said Resolution
No. 2675, a hearing was duly held by this City Council at which
all written protests or objections were presented, and this
City Council gave all persons present an opportunity to be heard
in respect to any matter relating to the work or assessment -pro-
posed in said Resolution,.of Intention; andq,
WHEREAS, this City Council has taken evidence relating to
whether public convenience and necessity require .said work or
improvement, and also evidence relating to said proposed work,
the boundaries of the proposed assessment district and the bene-
fits to the property to be included in the proposed assessment
district, and is fully informed in the premises;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council ofjthe City of West Covina
does hereby resolve as follows:
SECTION 1: That the said City Council does hereby deny
and overrule all'protests and objections, and does hereby approve,
confirm and adopt the said report of the City Engineer and the
plans, specifications, estimate, diagram and assessment contained
in said report.

SECTION 2. That the City Council doe's hereby order the
work for said improvement to be made; does hereby fix and estab-
lish the period of time over which the proposed improvement
shall extend as a period of months ending June 30, 1966; does
hereby levy the proposed assessment to cover the costs and expenses
of said improvement upon the respective several subdivisions of
land in the'assessment district described and referred to in said
Resolution of Intention; and does hereby levy for the first
fiscal year ending June 30, 1964, thirty-three and one-third per
cent (33-1/3%) of said total assessment.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk is hereby ordered to
transmit, or cause to be transmitted, to the,County Auditor of
Los Angeles'County, the said diagram and assessment upon which
such levy is based; and the County Tax Collector of said County
is hereby designated, requested, empowered, authorized, instruc-
ted and directed to make collection of all assessments shown in
said assessment, and -to perform the acts and duties as are re-
quired by law of and.to be performed by the officer, employee or
person so designated.
SECTION'4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution.
