RESOLUTION NO. 2712
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA PROVIDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF REAL
ESTATE FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES, FOR THE EXECUTION
OF NECESSARY AGREEMENT IN CONNECTION THEREWITH
AND ACCEPTING GRANT DEED COVERING SAID REAL
PROPERTY
The City Council of the City of West Covina does resolve
as follows:
WHEREAS, in the opinion of this Council, due.to the rapid
growth and development of the City of West Covina, there exists
an urgent need for an.adequate site for general municipal purposes
and operations, to -wit: addition to Palm View Park; and
WHEREAS, the City Council upon proper; investigation and
study of the problems involved has concluded .that an available
site immediately adjacent to the existing park in the City of
West Covina meets the requirements of and i'saappropriate to the
needs of the City of West Covina for said municipal purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has made a!'thorough investiga-
tion of_the suitability and the cost of the real property proposed
to be purchased hereby and is saticfied that the location is
appropriate and the purchase price of $22,500.00 is fair and
reasonable therefor;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1.. That upon the furnishing;to the City of
West Covina of appropriate evidence of the ability of the vendors
to grant to the City a clear and marketable title to said real
property through escrow, the City Manager and the City Clerk of
the City of West Covina be and they are hereby authorized and
directed to enter into and execute in the name of and on behalf
of the said City an agreement between West Covina Church of Christ,
as vendor of the aforementioned real property, and the City of
West Covina, a municipal corporation, as purchaser thereof,
relating to the purchase and use of said property for municipal
or public purposes as aforesaid, and that the City of West Covina
accept from said West Covina Church of Christ a proper deed con-
veying to the City of West Covina.the.afores'aid real property
situated in the City of West Covina.and described more particu-
larly as�
The easterly 160.01 feet (measured from the West
line of Azusa Stree�,now Lark Ellen Avenue, as
shown on the hereinafter recited map) of Lot 1 in
"Block 18 of the Phillips Tract, in the City of
West Covina, County of Los Angeles, State of Cali-
fornia, as per map recorded in book `9 page 4 of
Miscellaneous Records in the office of the County
Recorder of said County.
EXCEPT the southerly 264.00 feet of said land,
measured along said west line of Azusa Street.
at a price of $22,500.00.

SECTION 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to execute a certificate of acceptance in.substantilly
the form prescribed by Section 27281 of theGovernment Code and
to cause the said Instrument and said certificate to be filed
for record in the office of the County Recorder of the County of
Los Angeles.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution.
