Resolution - 2672RESOLUTION NO. 2672 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, MAKING A CONTRIBUTION.OF PUBLIC. FUNDS TO AID.AND.ASSIST.IN PAYING A.PORTION-OF THE COST (INCLUDING.INCIDENTAL EXPENSES) FOR.INSTALLATION AND, FOR THE.FURNISHING OF ELECTRIC CURRENT AND MAINTE- NANCE OF CERTAIN_STREET LIGHTING.FIXTURES.IN THE CITY OF WEST_COVINA, AS. SHOWN ON. PROPOSED, DIAGRAM AND PLAN NO. LAD-6271, AND INSTRUCTING THE CITY TREASURER TO.ESTABLISH A SPECIAL FUND.TO.BE KNOWN, AS "STREET LIGHTING INSTALLATION, ELECTRIC.CURRENT AND MAINTENANCE.FUND,-STREET LIGHTING ASSESSMENT 6ISTRICT.NO..62-1" WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of West Covina, California, adopted Resolution No. 2659, dated June 24, 1963, ordering the City Engineer to prepare a written report pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 3, Division 14, Part 1, Streets and Highways Codeof the State of California, for the installation and for the furnishing of electric current and maintenance for certain lighting fixtures for a period of months ending June 30, 1966; and WHEREAS, in the opinion of the City Council, a portion of the cost (including incidental expenses) of the installation, electric current and maintenance of said street lighting fixtures is a benefit to the City as a whole; and WHEREAS, said portion of the cost should be met by an appropriation of public funds; NOW, THEREFORE, THIS CITY COUNCIL DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, ORDER AND DETERMINE AS.FOLLOWS: • SECTION 1. • That the City Treasurer be instructed to establish a special fund to be known as "Street Lighting Installation, Electric Current and Maintenance Fund, Street Lighting Assessment.District No. 62-1". That the said City Treasurer shall place in said special fund all monies collected. by the Tax Collector pursuant to the provisions of the "Street Lighting Act of 1919" (now Part 1 of Division 14 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California), as amended, and under the alternative procedure for installment assessments -provided for in Chapter 8 of said "Street Lighting Act of 1919". Payments to be made out of said special fund only for the purposes provided for in said Act. To expedite the making.of the proposed improvement, the City Council shall transfer into said special fund such sums as it may deem necessary, and the sums so transferred, excepting the sum mentioned in Section 2 hereof, shall be deemed a loan to such special fund, and shall be repaid out of the proceeds of the assessments provided for under provisions of said Act. SECTION 2. . That the sum of fifty-eight thousand one hundred fifty-four and no/100 Dollars ($58,154.00) be and the same is hereby contributed to aid and assist in meeting a.portion of the cost of installation, electric current and maintenance of certain street lighting fixtures as shown on said Proposed Diagram and Plan No. LAD-62-1, and said sum so contributed be transferred to said "Street Lighting Installation, Electric Current and Maintenance Fund, Street Lighting District No. 62-1". SECTION 3. 4 That the City Clerk deliver certified copes of this resolution to the City Engineer.and to the City Treasurer for their instruction and guidance. -1- • • 4 SECTION 4.
