A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,
CALIFORNIA, INDE31NIFYING AND HOLDING HARMLESS THE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA FROM CLAIMS 11HICH MAY ARISE FRO31 ANY. CHANGE IN THE
EXISTING ROAD FACILITIES. OF. BARRANCA STREET.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. WHEREAS, by the terms of Resolution No.977
adopted by this Council on June 18, 1956, certain plans for the
• development of an overpass and traffic interchange at the inter-
section of Barranca Street and the San Bernardino Freeway in the
City of West Covina were duly approved and adopted, the City thereby
undertaking to assume responsibility for the future disposition of
a portion of the existing Barranca. Street not being used in this
development:
NOW, THEREFORE, this City Council does hereby resolve as
follows:
"That within six months from the date of this Resolution
the City of West Covina shall take appropriate action to vacate and
abandon that portion of the existing Barranca Street which is shown
in red upon the map hereto attached and made a part hereof and the
City hereby undertakes and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the
• State of California from all claims for damages that may arise as
a result of such vacationing and abandonment, and the City further
undertakes and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the State of
California from all claims which may arise from the relocation of
Barranca Street or any incidental change in the existing road faci-
lities as shown on said map.

SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of nest Covina,
held on the 25th day of June, 1956, by the affirmative vote of at
least three Councilmen, to wit:
