Resolution - 983RESOLUTION NO. 983 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING A TIME AND.PLACE FOR HEARING PROTESTS IN RELATION TO.THE PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT.REFERRED TO IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 982 AND DIRECTING THE CLERK.OF SAID CITY COUNCIL TO GIVE.NOTICE OF SAID HEARING. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of West Covina, California, did in a resolution of said Council adopted April 23, 1956, pursuant to the provisions of the 4PStreet Lighting Act of 191919 of the State of California • (Part 1 of Division 14 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California) as amended, and particularly as contemplated under the provisions of Section 18041 of said law and under the alternative procedure for installment assessments provided for in Chapter 8 of said "Street Lighting Act of 1919". require the City Engineer of said City to make and file with the Clerk of said Council a report in writing presenting certain matters relating to a proposed lighting maintenance and service district in said City; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer, pursuant to the requirements of said City Council expressed in said resolution of April 23, 1956, file in the office of the City Clerk (who is ex-officio Clerk in the City Council) of said City, his report in writing responsive to the requirements of the said • resolution of April 23, 1956, and of said law relating to the proposed lighting maintenance and service district in said City; and T ;-- WHEREAS,"THE SAID City Council has proceeded to carefully examine, inspect and consider the said report, and has afforded all persons interested an opportunity to be heard with reference thereto, and is satisfied with each and all of the various items thereof and the matters therein set forth; and WHEREAS, said City Council did in Resolution No. 981 approve said report on the 25th. day of June, 1956, in conformity with the provisions of said tfStreet Lighting Act of 1919"; and -1- WHEREAS, after the approval of said report, and in conformity with the provisions of said e!Street Lighting Act of 191�'T, said City Council did duly and regularly adopt its Resolution of Intention No. 982 entitled: VIA RESMUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION.TO ORDER CERTAIN LIGHTING FIXTURES..AND.APPLIANCES.ON.CERTAIN STREETS AND PUBLIC.PLACES IN THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, TO.BE MAINTAINED AND ELECTRIC CURRENT TO BE.FURNISHED.FOR LIGHTING.SAID FIXTURES.FOR A PERIOD.OF MONTHS, ENDING_OCTOBER 31, 1957";. . AND WHEREAS, it now becomes the duty of said Council to appoint a time and place for hearing protests in relation to the proposed improvement referred to in said Resolution of Intention No. 982 and to direct the giving of notice of said hearing; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That Monday, the 23rd. day of July, 1956, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. (California Daylight Saving Time) of said day, be and the same is hereby appointed as the time and the Council Chamber in the City Hall of said City of West Covina, California, is hereby appointed as the place for hearing protests in reference to the said proposed improvement. SECTION 2. That the City Clerk (who is ex-officio Clerk of the City Council) is hereby authorized, designated and directed to give notice • of said hearing in time, form and manner as required by law. SECTION 3. That the West Covina Tribune, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, published in the City of West Covina, County of Los Angeles, California, and circulated generally within said City of West Covina, California, is hereby designated as the newspaper in which such notice shall be published. t . . That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same among the original resolutions of the City Council of said City; and shall make a minute of the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
