Resolution - 971A a*;E?3;LUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST CCVINA, CALIFORNIA, vL a—ING A COHTRIBUTION OF PUBLIC FUNDS T© AID AND ASSIST IN PLYING A 'JOR'�IO�i OF Tit, CCST (INCLUDING INCIDENTAL EXPENSES) FOR FURNISHING ELECTRIC CU2,RENT AND iAINTENANCE OF CERTAIN STREET LIGHTING FIXTURES IN THE CITY CF T%TEST COVINA, AS SHOWN ON PROPOSED DIAGRA0 AND PLAN NO. 56-57. WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 925, dated April 23, 1956, ordering the City Engineer to prepare a written report pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 3., Division 14, Part 1, Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, for the furnishing of electric current and maintenance for certain street lighting fixtures for a period of months ending October 31, 1)57; and WHEREAS, certain streets shown on the proposed Diagram and Plan No. 55=57 are included in the duly adopted Master Plan of Streets and Highways and said streets are shcion thereon as Major and Secondary Streets; and WHEREAS, the safety of traffic on said Major and Secondary Streets requires lighting current and maintenance in excess of that required by those 3--,ceets not so designated; and WHEREAS, in the opinion of the City Council this excess lighting current and maintenance is a benefit to the City of West Covina as a whole, and such excess should be borne by a contribution from the Traffic Safety Fund; NOT-,(, THEREFORE, THIS CITY COUNCIL DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, ORDER AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the sum of Three Thousand Three Hundred Eighty -Nine and 73/100 Dollars, be and the same is hereby contributed from the Traffic Safety Fund to meet a portion of the costs (including incidental expenses) of furnishing electric current and maintenance of certain street lighting fixtures situated on Major and Secondary Streets as shown on the proposed Diagram and Plan No. 56-57. SECTION 2. That the sum of Three Thousand Three Hundred Eighty -Nine and 76/100 Dollars, be and the same is hereby transferred from the Traffic Safety Fund to the "Street Lighting Current and Maintenance Fund." Page Two F: SECTION 3. That the City Clerk deliver a certified copy of this Resolution to the City Engineer. SECTION 4. That the City Engineer be and he is hereby instructed to prepare his said report in accordance with the provisions of this Resolution. SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption e- this Resolution.
