Resolution - 960}; RESOLUTION NO. 960 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA RECOGNIZING THE NEED FOR A REGIONAL TYPE RECREATION AREA IN THE EAST SAN GABRIEL VALLEY AND REQUESTING FUNDS TO BE APPLIED TOWARD THE ACQUISITION OF LAND FOR, AND DEVELOP- MENT OF, THE PUDDINGSTONE DAM RECREATION AREA, SAN DIMAS, CALIFORNIA. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of West Covina has found that a Regional type recreation area is essential to the overall develop- �- ment of recreation services in the East San Gabriel Valley; and WHEREAS, there exists within the area a logical and desirable site in the vicinity of the Puddingstone Dam Recreation Area, which .area is presently being developed by the County of Los Angeles; and WHEREAS, additional land must be acquired and improvements installed to provide an adequate facility at this site. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the State of California, Department of Natural Resources, Division of Parks and Beaches be urged to re-evaluate the priority list applying to such projects so as to fully recognize the obviously critical needs for Park facilities in the East San Gabriel Valley, thereby assuring the early acquisition of proper- 0 ty for the Puddingstone Recreation Area. AND FURTHER RESOLVED, that both the State of California and the County of Los Angeles be assured that this matter is deserving of immediate attention because of the rapidly compounding problems of urban growth in the East San Gabriel Valley. AND FINALLY RESOLVED, that copies of this Resolution be forwarded to Mr. Goodwin J. Knight, Governor of the State of California, t. Reso. 960 -2- at the State Capitol Building, and Mr. Richard Richards, Member of the Senate, 38th District Mr. Thomas M. Erwin, Member of the Assembly, 50th District Mr. John M.
