A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,
CALIFORNIA, :EXPRESSING.THE INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL AS
PRESENTLY CONSTITUTED TO CONTINUE ITS -EFFORTS TO CARRY OPT Aa
PROPOSED MASTER PLAN OF STORMS AND INVITING THE COOPL,ATION
OF THE FEDERAL GOVERN14ENT.IN THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT OF
SUITABLE FLOOD CONTROL AND STORM DRAIN FACILITIES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. WHEREAS, the City of West Covina has hereto-
fore adopted and approved a certain "Preliminary Report and Master
• Flan of Collector Storm Drains in the City of West Covina" to
provide a guide for the City of West Covina in order to relieve
its serious local drainage problems; and
WHEREAS, copies of said report and plan have been furnished
to the Engineering -Departments of the County of Los Angeles and of
the cities within the east San Gabriel Valley as well as to the
members of the United States Congress for this area, so that such
plan may be properly coordinated with similar plans for the general
area; and
'WHEREAS, as a result of a regular municipal election held
on April 10, 1956, three new members of the City Council who were
duly elected thereat have studied the foregoing report and plan:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of "West Covina as presently constituted confirms the
previous action of the City Council in adopting said report and
expresses its intention to do everything possible to expedite the
planning, construction and installation of the flood control and
storm drain facilities described in said report and the City Council
hereby invites the cooperation of the adjoining communities, the
County of Los Angeles, the State of California and the Congress of

the United States in the prosecution of this most important
public work, the completion of which is essential to the public
health, safety and general welfare
SECTION 2® The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.-
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
at -an adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of West Covina, held on the 21st day of tray, 1956, by the affirmative
vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit:
