A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 'OF WEST
COVINA TERMINATING PROCEEDINGS WITH RESPECT TO
NORTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 13.9.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA DOES RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
• SECTION 1. On February 20, 1956, said City Council adopted
its Resolution No. 891 declaring its intention to call a special annexation
election in certaina minhabited territory, as more particularly described
therein and therein designated and identified as '.''Northerly Annexation
District No. 139, " and fixing a time and place for protest by property
owners. Said resolution gave notice that on the 26th day of March, 1956,
at the hour of 8:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of the
City of West Covina, any person owning real property so proposed to be
annexed and having any objection to the proposed annexation might appear
before said City Council and show cause why such territory should not be
annexed.
SECTION 2. Said City Council hereby finds that substantial pro-
tests were filed not later than the hour set for hearing objections pursuant
to said notice. Said City Council further hereby finds that it will not be in
the best interests of said territory and the owners and residents therein
or the City of West Covina to proceed with said proposed annexation.
SECTION 3. Said annexation proceedings are hereby terminated
without the necessity of calling said special election.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted at
a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of West Covina held on
• May 7, 1956, by the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to -
wit:
