A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,
CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND NECESSITY
DENAND THE IMMEDIATE EXPENDITURE OF PUBLIC MONEY TO SAFEGUARD
LIFE, HEALTH OR PROPERTY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE, CITY OF NEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, DOES
HEREBY . FIND, DETERhYINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS
SECTION to ifflER.IAS, an inspection of the public street
and highway facilities in the City of West Covina has revealed that
• certain street improvements are needed immediately to ensure the
proper functioning and use of such street and highway facilities,
to wits the street lowering and paving on Sunset Avenue from Merced
Avenue to Francisquito Avenue including the work previously author-
ized under City Project No.C-28 (Resolution No.713) and additionally
the necessary reconstruction work heretofore eliminated from this
project; and
IMEREAS, the City Engineer and City Administrator have
recommended that such additional repairs be made forthwith and that
they be authorized to proceed with this public project, the materials
and supplies therefor to be acquired and furnished in the open markets
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Engineer be,
and he is hereby, authorized and empowered to arrange for the
• reconstruction of the entire street area above described (excluding
an 8 foot paved shoulder strip), in the City of West Covina, the
total cost of such additional labor and materials not to exceed the
sum of Two Thousand Nine Hundred Seventy-three and 46/100 Dollars
($29973.46)9 this Council hereby specifically finding and declaring
that the public interest and necessity demand the immediate expendi-
ture of this amount of public money to safeguard 1ife,health or
property.

SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
adopted at an adjourned regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of West Covina, held on the 7th day of May, 1956,
by the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit;
