A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA;
ORDERING THE CITY ENGINEER TO PREPARE AN ASSESSMENT DIAGRAM, PLANS,
SPECIFICATIONS, ESTIMATE AND REPORT PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF DIVISION
14, PART 1, STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE, STREET LIGHTING ACT OF 1919, AS
AMENDED, FOR THE FURNISHING OF ELECTRIC CURRENT AND FOR THE MAINTENANCE
OF CERTAIN LIGHTING FIXTURES AND APPLIANCES IN SAID CITY FOR A PERIOD OF
MONTHS, BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1955, AND ENDING OCTOBER 31, 1957, EXCEPTING
THAT PROPERTIES PREVIOUSLY ASSESSED AS PER DIAGRAM, PLAN AND SPECIFICATIONS
NUMBERED 55-56, SHALL BE FOR A PERIOD OF TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEGINNING
NOVEMBER 1, 1956, AND ENDING OCTOBER 31, 1957.
WHEREAS, the public convenience and necessity require and it is
• the intention of the City Council of the City of West Covina to order the
furnishing of electric current and the maintenance of lighting fixtures
and appliances in the City of West Covina for a period of months beginning
-October 1, 1955, and ending October 31, 1957, excepting that those properties
which were assessed as per Diagram, Plan and Specifications numbered 55-56,
shall be for a period of twelve (12) months beginning November 1, 1956, and
ending October 31, 1957;
WHEREAS, proceedings for such proposed improvement will be taken
pursuant to the provisions of Division 14, Part 1, Streets and Highways Code,
Street Lighting Act of 1919, as amended; and
WHEREAS, the provisions of said Division 14, Part 1, require a
written report concerning such proposed improvement;
. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,
CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Engineer be and he is hereby ordered to
prepare a written report pursuant to the provisions of Chapter .3, Division 14,
Part 1, Streets and Highways Code, for the furnishing of electric current and
the maintenance of certain lighting fixtures in said city for a period of months
beginning October 1, 1955, and ending October 31, 1957, excepting that those
properties which were assessed as per diagram, plan and specifications numbered
55-56, shall be for a period of twelve (12) months beginning November 1, 1956,

and ending October 31, 1957.
SECTION 2. That the said written report shall be filed with the
City Clerk, who shall present it to the City Council for its consideration.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted at a
regular meeting of the City Council of the City of West Covina, held on the
23rd. day of April, 1956, by the affirmative vote of at least three Council-
men, to wit:
