RESOLUTION NO.901
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,
CALIFORNIA, DETERKINING AND DECLARING THAT.WEEDS GROWING UPON
PORTIONS OF CERTAIN STREETS, SIDEWALKS.AND CERTAIN PRIVATE
PROPERTY IN THE. CITY OF WEST COVINA,'. TO BE A NUISANCE AND
DECLARING . THE INTENTION OF THE ' CI TY COUNCIL TO ORDER THE ABATE -
NUT THEREOF AT THE.COST OF THE PROPERTY.OWN'ER AS PROVIDED BY LAW.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Act 5197,
Deering's California General Laws, which Act is known as the
nMunicipal Weed Abatement.Actll, as amended (Stats.1915,page 841,
as amended) being now'Sections 39560 to 39586 of the Government
Code, and the provisions of Ordinance No.144 of the City of West
Covina, the City Council of West Covina does hereby determine and
declare that weeds which bear seeds of a wingy or.downy nature or
with such a large growth as to become a fire menace when dry, or
which are otherwise noxious of dangerous, are growing upon the
streets, sidewalks and private property in said City hereinafter
described, and that such weeds constitute a public nuisance which
must be abated by the removal thereof, and.said City Council hereby
declares its intention to order the abatement of said public
nuisance by having such weeds removed and the cost of such removal
assessed upon the lots and lands from which or in front of which
such weeds are removed, in accordance with said Municipal Weed
Abatement Act, as amended; and that said streets, sidewalks and
private property are more particularly described in that certain
list thereof hereunto attached, marked "Exhibit A" and by this
reference incorporated in and made a part hereof.
SECTION 2. The Superintendent of Streets of the City of
West Covina shall post or cause to be conspicuously posted in front
of the property on which, or in front of which., such nuisance exists,

notices of the adoption of this Resolution, in a manner and
form required by law.
SECTION 3. That Monday, March 26th 19569 at the hour
of 8:00 o'clock PDX.*, of said'date, in the Council Chambers in
the City Hall of the City of. West Covina are -.the time and place
fixed by the City Council for' hearing ' and ° considering all
objections -or protests, if any, to the proposed removal of such
weeds, as -in this-- Resolution specified:
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution,
I HEREBY CERTIFY that -the -foregoing Resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting.of the City Council of the City of West
Covina, held on the 27th day -of February, 1956,'by-the affirmative
vote -of at least three Councilmen, to wit:
