A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,
CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO CALL A SPECIAL
ANNEXATION ELECTION AND . FIXING A . TIME AND PLACE FOR PROTEST
BY PROPERTY OWNERS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That it is the intention of the City Council
of the City of West Covina to call a special election to be held
• on the 5th day of June, 1956, in certain uninhabited territory
contiguous to said City proposed to be annexed thereto for the
purpose of submitting to the qualified electors residing in said
territory the question whether or not said territory shall be
annexed to the City of West Covina and the property in the terri-
tory subjected to taxation after annexation equally with property
within the City of West Covina, to pay the bonded indebtedness
of the City of West Covina outstanding or authorized,at the date
of the filing of the petition for annexation, for the acquisition,
for the construction or completion of municipal improvements.
Said territory is described as follows:
All of that certain unincorporated territory in the County
of Los Angeles, State of California, within the following
• described boundary. -
Beginning at an angle point in the Easterly and Southerly
boundary of the City'of West Covina as it existed on December
12,19559 said angle point being the.southeasterly corner of
Lot 4 of Fractional Section 16, Township 1 South, Range 10
West, S.B.B.& M.; thence westerly along.the boundary of said
City of West Covina and following the same in all its various
courses to the Northwest corner'of Lot 1 of Tract'No.16999,
in the City of West Covina, County of Los Angeles, State of
California, as shown on map recorded in Book 508, pages 35 to
37 inclusive of Maps, -in the office of the County Recorder
of said County; thence Northerly along the Northerly prolong-
ation of the Westerly line of said Lot 1 to the Easterly
prolongation of the Northerly line of Badillo Street; 80 feet
wide, as shown on map of Tract No.17291, in said County and

in the office of the County Recorder of said County;
thence'Westerly.along said last mentioned prolongation
and Northerly line to the Southeasterly corner of said
Tract No.17291'; thence Northerly along the most Easterly
line of said last mentioned tract, and the Northerly
prolongation of said most Easterly line to the Southerly
line of San Bernardino Road, 66 feet' ;wide, as shown on
said last-mentioned map; thence Easterly along the
Easterly prolongation of said Southerly line to the
boundary of the City of ' Covina as it' existed on December
• 12, 1955; thenceNortherlyalong said boundary of the
City of Covina and following -the same in all its various
courses to -the Westerly line of the 'East -half of the
Southeast quarter of the Southeast quarter'of, Section 109
Township 1 South, Range 10 West,'S.B.B.& M.; thence'
Northerly along said last mentioned. Westerly line to.the
Southerly line of the Northerly 16.50 feet of said East
half of the Southeast quarter of the Southeast quarter;
thence Easterly along said last mentioned Southerly line,
to the boundary of the City'of Covina as it existed on
December 1291955; thence Northerly and Easterly along the
boundary of said City of Covina to the Westerly line of
Tract No.189389 in -said County and State, as shown on map
recorded in Book 496, pages 21 and 22 of Maps, in the.
office of the County Recorder of said County; thence
Northerly and Easterly along the Westerly and Northerly
lines of said last mentioned tract to the'Westerly line.
of Tract No.19571, in said County and State, as shown
on map recorded in Book 495, pages 48 and 49 of Maps, in
the office of the County Recorder of said County; thence
Northerly along said Westerly line of Tract No.19571;
Northerly along the Westerly line of Tract No.19760,.in
the -Pity of Covina, said County and State, as shown on .map
recorded in Book 521, pages 30'to 32 inclusive of Maps,.

• Northerly along the Northerly prolongation of.said'last
mentioned Westerly line `to. the forth line of Section _11,
Township 1 South, Range 10 West, S.B.B. & M.; thence
Westerly along section lines to the_Northerly prolongation
of the Westerly line of Ellen Drive (a Private Street)
20`feet-wide as shown on County Surveyor's Map 96:B-21121
Sheet 1, on file in the office of the County Engineer of
the County of Los Angeles; thence Southerly along said
last mentioned.prolonga.tion and Westerly line to the
Southerly line of the parcel of land described in Certi-
ficate of : Title No.BG211001 recorded in the office of the
County Recorder of said County; thence Westerly along
said last mentioned Southerly line and the Westerly
prolongation thereof.to the Southerly prolongation of the
center line of Irwindale Avenue, shown as Irwindale Boule-
va.rd,,,40 feet wide, on' map filed in Book 13, page 32_ of

Easterly along the Northerly lines of Parcels 7 and 8 as

Southwesterly corner:of Parcel 9, a6' shown on said last
mentioned map; thence Northerly along the Westerly lines
of Parcels 9 and 6, as shown on said last mentioned map,
and the Northerly prolongation of the Westerly line of
said Parcel 6 to the North line'of Section 9, Township 1
South, Range 10 West, S.B.B.& M.; thence Westerly along,
said last mentioned North line to the Northwest corner
of said Section 9; thence Southerly along section line'to
the boundary of said City of West Covina as it existed -
on December 1291955; thence Easterly and Southerly along
the boundary of said City of West Covina to the point of
beginning.
SECTION.2. `That said territory is hereby designated
and -identified as- 'tNortherly Annexation- District, No.139't.
SECTION 3. Notice is hereby --given-- that - on the 26th day
of March, 195`69 at -the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M., in the Council
Chamber- of the- -City Hall of the City- of . West, Covina, any person
owning --real property within -said territory - so proposed to be annexed
and- having- any objection- to the proposed annexation- may appear
before said City Council and show cause why--such.-territory should
not be annexed. Such protest -must -be in -writing -and -shall state
the name --or names of the owner- or -owners of the property affected
by - such- annexation and the location -and area of such property in
general terms: If it be -found that--protest--is-not-made by owners
of a majority of the separate parcels of property within the

territory proposed to be -annexed, further' -proceedings' -shall be
taken in accordance with the law for the holding of such special
election.
SECTION 4. That"the City Clerk shall certify -to the
adoption- of- thus Resolution and cause- the- same to b-e published in
the West -Covina: -Tribune -,-a newspaper -of general circulation published
• in the --City of —West` Covina, there being no newspaper of general
circulation published in the territory to be annexed, once a week
for two weeks --prior to -the hearing.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
adopted at a regular adjourned meeting, of the City Council of the
City -of West Covina, held on -the 20th day of February, 1956, by
the -affirmative vote of.at least three Councilmen, to wit:
