A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA,
CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING OF A.GENERAL MUNICIPAL
k' ECTION IN SAID CITY ON THE 10TH DAY OF APRIL, 19569AND
DESIGNATING THE OFFICES TO BE FILLED AT SAID ELECTION; A CER-
TAIN NEASURE.OR PROPOSITION TO BE VOTED ON; PROVIDING FOR THE
POLLING PLACES FOR THE HOLDING OF SUCH AN ELECTION, APPOINTING
THE 'ELECTION OFFICERS FOR THE SAME AND FIXING THEIR COMPENSATION.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That a general municipal election be and the
same is hereby called to be held in the City of West Covina, State
of California, on Tuesday the 10th day of April, 1956, for the
following purposes:
1. For the purpose of electing the following officers,
to wit: Three (3) members of the City Council of said City of West
Covina, each to hold office for the full term or period of four (4)
years from and after the 17th day of April, 1956, a City Clerk
(full term) and a City Treasurer (full term).
2. The following measure or proposition will be submitted
to be voted on, to wit:

SECTION 2. That for the purpose of holding said election
there shall be and are hereby established twenty-one (21) election
precincts designated as hereinafter stated. That the polling places
for the respective precincts shall be the places hereinafter desig-
nated, and that the persons hereinafter named, being competent and

qualified electors and residents of said City, and of their
respective election precincts are hereby appointed officers of
election for their respective election precincts, and they shall
hold said election and make return thereof in the manner provided
by law:

SECTION 3. That the polls for said election shall be
opened at 7:00 o'clock A.M., on the day of said election and shall
remain open continuously from said time until 7:00 o'clock P.M.,
of the said day.
• SECTION 4. That said general municipal election shall be
held in accordance with the provisions of the Election Code of
the State of California, pertaining to cities of the sixth class,
and with the General Election Laws of the State of California.
SECTION 5. That the compensation to be paid to each of
the said officers of election for all services by each of said
officers to be rendered at said general election shall be and the
same is hereby fixed at the sum of eight:eeea($1$. 00) Dollars for
each Inspector and at the sum of fift.een ($19.00) Dollars for each
Judge or Clerk.
SECTION 6. That the said City Council will meet in the
Council Chamber of the City Hall on Tuesday, April 17, 1956, at
the hour of 7:00 o'clock P.M., to canvass the returns of said
• election and declare the results thereof.
SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
at an adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of West Covina, held on the 6th day of February, 1956, by the
