RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF,

MEXORANDUM OF AGREEMENT FOH ACCUMULATION OF THE
1/4 CENT GAS TAX ALLOCATED FOR STRS9TS OF FOR IMPORTANCE
HNRZA°, a memorandum of agreement has been presented to
be entered into Frith the State of California for accumulation
of the 1/4 cent gas tax for the fiscal year 1946 allocated
for streets of major importance other than State highways in
the City of Feet Covina; and.
WHEREAS, the city council has heard read said agreement
In full and is familiar with the contents thereof;
THEREFORE, be it resolved by the city council of the
City of Feet Covina that, under the provisions of Section
CCU of the Streets and highways Cade, the 1/4 oent gas tax
allocated For streets of major importance ether than State
highways be accumulated for future expenditure, and that
said agreement be and the same to ,Hereby approved, and the
mayor and the o ty clerk are directed, to sign the same on be-
half of said city, said. agreement to be binding upon the city
upon its exeoution by tJ a authorized officials of the State.

ACCUMULATION AGR` ENT a 1946 FISCAL XUR
MUORANDUU, OF AGREEMENT entered into by and between than
City of West Covina, hereinafter referred to as the city,
and the Department of Public Works of the State of California,
hereinafter referred to as the department,
WITNE SEi' , HATO WHEREAS, in accordance vi.th. than provi-
sions of Section 194 and Section 195 of the Streete and High-
ways Gode, the department shall expend or cause to be expended
within the cities of this State from the State filghway Fund
an amount equal to the net revenue derived from one -quarter
cent per gallon of tax on motor vehicle fuel, upon streets of
major 1mpo.rt -oo other than State highways ,as are agreed upon
by the department and the legislative body of the city, in
the proportion that the total population of each city burs
to the total population of all cities In this State; and
WHMA9, under the provisions of Section 200 of the
Streets and. highways Cade the city desires to authorize the
accumulation of funds accruing from the one --quarter cent per
gallon of talc on motor vehicle fuel allocated under the pro-
visions of Section 194 and Section 195 of the 05treets and
Highwvs Codas for expenditure in, the city upon streets of
major importance other than State highways for than fiscal
ya-ar ending June 30, 1946;

WC THEREFORE0 It ia mutually agreed that the depart-
ment will accumulate and hold for future expenditure within
the city, or until such time as the city submit$ a budget in
aceordanoe with the provisions of Section 197 of the Streets
and. Highways Codes all funds accruing from the one -quarter
cent gas tax allocation for streets of major importance dur-
ing the fiscal year ending June 30, 1946.
