A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF WEST COVINA

PAYABLE AND CIS RGEABLE OUT OF THE "STREET
IMPROVE"MENT FUND. TM

THE, CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VEST COVINA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS, TO -WIT:
WHEREAS, the number of miles of roads to be maintained in
the City of West Covina is in excess of fifty (50) miles
AND WHEREAS the City of Nest Covina is essentially a rural
community and the gr7)ater portion of the expense of said city is in
maintaining the roads and streets
THAT WHEREAS the maintenance of records and accounts of
employees of the road department and the clerk in maintaining the
records and accounts, for expenditures and upkeep of the roads and
highways in nest Covina, requires approximately one-half (1/2) of
the time of the clerk and the major portion of the time of the road
commissioner and approximately one-half (1/2) of the mileage of the
automobile owned'by the City, including the gas, oil and upkeep there-
of is being used in the maintenance of the roads and highways of said
city,
NOW THEREFORE be it resolved that 50% of the cost of main-
taining the city automobile, including gas,oil and rerairs• 50% of
the rental of the city hall; 50% of the clerk's salary and�l00% of the
sLaries of the road crew, together with the salary of the road
SuPattzt.eadwnttnd the expense of maintaining and operating the roadd
equipment shall be paid from the Street Improvement Fund as heref'�ore
established by the City of West Covina.

Notice is hereby given that the:
City Council of West Covina,. Cali
fornia, hereby invites bids for, the
construction of two bedrooms,. one
screen porch and one toilet, total
structure to be approximately 17x22
feet in size, as an addition to, the
present City Hall, at 361 West' State
Highway, West Covina, California.
Bidders may submit bids' on , all
classes of building supplies, xnater-
ials and equipment that may be re-
quired by the plans and specifica-
tions for said building, which may
be examined by any bidder at the,.
City Hall, 361 West State Highway,
West Covina; California.,
All bids must be sealed and filed
with Carey D. Hall, City Clerk, on
or before December 31, 1944, at 8
o'clock p.m., at which time said bids
will be opened by the City Council.
All bids must provide that bid-
ders carry their own compensation
insurance for all workers or em-
ployees of bidders and to hold the
City harmless from any claims for
damages or injuries arising under
said contract.
The -City Council of West Covina
reserves the right to reject any and
all bids and to a8cept the bid of any
one class of material or supplies as
they may deem best for the interest
of the City.
