AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING CHAPTER 1, SECTION 1-37.2 OF
THE WEST COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE TO INCLUDE SECTIONS 15-
400 — 15-403 WITH THOSE MISDEMEANORS WHICH MAY BE
• ENFORCED BY CITY EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS, On April 5, 2005, the City Council of the City of West Covina introduced
for first reading Ordinance number 2131 which seeks to regulate the display of material which is
harmful to minors in public places, commonly referred to as a blinder rack ordinance; and
WHEREAS, On April 5, 2005, in order to facilitate enforcement of Ordinance number
2131, the City Council of the City of West Covina directed that Chapter 1, section 1-37.2 of the
West Covina Municipal Code be amended to include Ordinance number 2131 with those
misdemeanors which may be enforced by City employees.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina does hereby ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 1, Section 1-37.2 of the West Covina Municipal Code is amended
as follows:
Sec. 1-37.2. Authority of authorized City employees to issue citations.
The Code Enforcement Officer, Assistant Code Enforcement Officer and Business
License Inspector shall have the authority to issue citations for misdemeanors and
infractions as enumerated herein:
Chapter 15 - Miscellaneous Provisions Relating to Public Health and Safety:
Sections 15-2, 15-12(a), (b), 15-14(a)(1), (3), (4), 15-15, 15-16(a), 15-98 — 15-107, 15-
400 — 15-403.
SECTION 2. All other portions of Section 1-37.2 to remain the same.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall
cause the same to be published as required by law.
