Ordinance - 2125• ORDINANCE NO. 2125 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 1-37.1, CHAPTER 22 OF THE WEST COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE, CORRECTLY CLASSIFYING TWO TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS AS INFRACTIONS, AND SETTING BAIL AMOUNTS WHEREAS, certain traffic violations (Avoidance of Traffic Signal, and Truck Route Violation) are currently listed in the West Covina Municipal Code under misdemeanors; and WHEREAS, these violations should be correctly classified as infractions, in order to expedite more efficient traffic enforcement and facilitate the processing of these violations at traffic court(s). NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina, California, does hereby ordain as follows: Section 1-37.1 (Violation; infraction), Chapter 22 (Traffic Regulations) of the West Covina Municipal Code is amended to include 22-61 (Avoidance of Traffic Signal), 22-143A (Truck Route Violation), Bail amounts for these infractions are hereby set as follows: $50 for 22-61 $100 for 22-143A APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of December, 2004.
