AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE WEST COVINA
MUNICIPAL CODE, DIVISION 2, SECTION 2-31 (a) REGARDING THE
STARTING TIME AND LOCATION OF CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS
• WHEREAS, the West Covina Municipal Code may be amended by ordinance only; and
•
WHEREAS, California Government Code § 54954 (a) allows for the change of the day and
time of regular meetings of a legislative body or local agency by ordinance or resolution; and
WHEREAS, Section 2-31(a) of the West Covina Municipal Code currently requires regular
meetings of the City Council be held on the first and third Tuesday of the month at the hour of 7:30
p.m.; and
WHEREAS, the West Covina City Council has determined that in order to better facilitate
City business, that the starting time of regular meetings of the City Council should be changed as
defined below.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina does hereby ordain as
follows:
SECTION NO. 1: West Covina Municipal Code, Section 2-31(a) is amended to read as
follows:
Section 2-31
(a) There shall be two (2) regular meetings of the City Council during each calendar
month and such meeting shall be held on the first and third Tuesdays thereof at the
hour of 7:00 p.m.; provided, however, that, if the date of any such regular meeting
falls on a holiday, such regular meeting shall be held at the hour of 7:00 p.m., on
the next succeeding day which is not a holiday.

Ordinance No. 2073 was regularly introduced and placed upon its first reading at a regular
meeting of the City Council on the 21" day of August, 2001. That, thereafter, said Ordinance
was duly adopted and passed at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 4°i day of
September, 2001.
