Ordinance - 2054• ORDINANCE NO. 2054 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, REVISING SECTION 6-36(c) OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE AGE OF CANINES WHEREAS, when the Municipal Code is inconsistent between its sections and subsections, it becomes difficult to interpret and enforce; and WHEREAS, West Covina Municipal Code Section 6-36(c) states that the age of licensing canines shall not apply to dogs under the age of six months provided they are kept within enclosures at all times. The age reference has been found to be inconsistent with other related West Covina Municipal Code sections, the Los Angeles County Code, and State regulations. The City Council of the City of West Covina does hereby ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Section 6-36(c) is hereby revised to read as follows: (c) Notwithstanding the provisions of this division, the provisions relating to licensing shall not apply to dogs under four (4) months of age provided they are kept within enclosures at all times. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and shall cause it to be published as required by law and entered into the municipal code.
