AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 2-23 OF THE WEST
COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO CITY COUNCIL
COMPENSATION.
WHEREAS, Government Code Section 36516 establishes compensation for
members of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Government Code Section 36516, the
West Covina City Council has received a monthly salary in the amount of $694
since July 1988;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina does
ordain as follows:
Section 1: Section 2-23 of the West Covina Municipal Code is amended
to read as follows.
Section 2-23. Salary.
"Effective July 1, 1990, each member of the City Council shall
receive a salary in the sum of seven hundred sixty five dollars
($765.00) per month, payable semi-monthly on or about the fifth and
twentieth of each month, and subject to change as may be provided
by Sections 36516 of the California Government Code."
Section 2: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by law.
