AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 2-23 OF
THE WEST COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO CITY
COUNCIL COMPENSATION
WHEREAS, Government Code Section 36516 establishes
salaries for members of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Government Code
Section 36516, the West Covina City Council has received a
monthly salary in the amount of $600 since September 1985;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
West Covina does ordain as follows:
Section 1: Section 2-23 of the West Covina
Municipal Code is amended to read as follows:
"Section 2-23. Salary.
"Effective July 1, 1988, each member of the City
Council shall receive a salary in the sum of six
hundred ninety four dollars ($694.00) per month,
payable semi-monthly on or about the fifth and
twentieth of each month, and subject to change as
may be provided by Sections 36516 of the California
Government Code."
Section 2: The City Clerk shall certify to the
passage of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be
published as required by law.
