ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE WEST COVINA
MUNICIPAL CODE, CHAPTER 26, ARTICLE VII, BY ADDING
SECTION 26-345 AS IT RELATES TO SIGNS ON
VEHICLES (Amendment No. 208).
The City Council of the City of West Covina, California,
• does ordain as follows:
SECTION NO. 1: Chapter 26, Article VII, of the West
Covina Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding Section 26-345 to
read as follows:
Section 26-345 Vehicle Signs:
A sign or signs on vehicles used in conjunction with a
business will be allowed subject to all other provisions of this
article and as follows:
a. The vehicle must be used as.a part of the business to
which the advertising on the vehicle pertains, i.e.
regular use for delivery of business product or obtaining
supplies.
b. A vehicle sign is a sign permanently or magnetically
atached or painted on a vehicle that is used in
conjunction with the business that it identifies or
advertises.
C. No vehicle sign shall be attached in such a manner as to
render the vehicle unmovable or unusable.
d. No vehicle sign shall be attached in such a manner as to
render a door, window, hood, trunk or tailgate of a
vehicle unmovable or unusable or to violate the California
Vehicle Code.
e. No vehicle sign shall have an arrow pointing towards the
business that it identifies or advertises, when the
vehicle is parked on a street or parking lot.
f. No sign permit is required for a vehicle sign.
SECTION NO. 2: The City Council finds and determines that
said Amendment to the Municipal Code is a minor modification to the
City's Zoning Ordinance and is, therefore, categorically exempt
(Class 5) from the requirements of the California Environmental
Quality Act of 1970 (CEQA).
SECTION NO. 3: The City Clerk shall certify to the
passage of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published
as required by law.
