Ordinance - 1745ORDINANCE NO. 1745 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 19-194(e) DEALING WITH CUL-DE-SAC.STREETS AND SECTION 20-22(a) DEALING WITH STREETS. • WHEREAS, the City Council desires to increase the length of cul-de-sac streets; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to unambiguously include private streets in the definition of streets. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina, does hereby ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Section 19-194(e) of the West Covina Municipal Code is amended to read as follows: (e) Cul-de-sac streets: Minimum thirty-two (32) feet between exterior curbs and maximum six hundred (600) feet in length unless specifically approved by the Planning Commission or City Council to be of greater length subject to any added safety/access conditions and/or increased street widths that are deemed appropriate. In the case of one (1) or more cul-de-sac streets having access from a cul-de-sac street, the combined total length shall not exceed the maximum length for a single cul-de-sac street unless specifically approved by the Planning Com- mission or City Council to be of greater length subject to any added safety/access conditions and/or increased street widths that are deemed appropriate. SECTION 2. Section 20-22(a) of the West Covina Municipal Code is amended to read as follows: (a) Streets: Streets either are dedicated public rights -of -way primarily intended for the use of vehicles and pedestrians and shall include "high- ways" or are private streets. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by law. PASSED AND APPROVED this 22nd day of June , 1987.
