• AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 22-174 OF THE WEST COVINA
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO PARKING PROHIBITED DURING CERTAIN
DAYS OR HOURS.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1: That the West Covina Municipal Code Section 22-174
be amended to read:
a. Whenever authorized signs prohibiting or restricting
parking or standing of vehicles on certain streets
or portion thereof have been determined by the Traffic
Committee to be necessary for the welfare of the gen-
eral public and are in place giving notice thereof,
it shall be unlawful for any person to stand or park
any vehicle at any time during the hours, day or days
indicated by such signs.
b. Notwithstanding subdivision (a) of this section, a
resident or merchant adjacent to a street with restric-
ted or prohibited parking may be issued a permit for
parking a vehicle on such streets in accordance with
Section 22507 of the California Vehicle Code and the
• following requirements:
The Police Chief or his designee may issue a permit to a
resident or merchant providing the following conditions
are met:
1. Insufficient on -site parking -exists on the pro-
perty of the applicant as determined by the City
Traffic Engineer.
2. The application is limited to one permit per
dwelling unit or business.
3. A fee as established from time to time by resolu-
tion of the City Council is paid by the applicant
for each permit.
4. The permit is displayed in plain view on the ex-
terior of the vehicle when the vehicle is parked
on streets with parking restriction5or prohibiters
during the time parking restrictionsor prohibitions

5. The vehicle displaying the permit is only parked on
the street for which the permit is issued during

c. The following streets or portions thereof are herein
designated as streets for which preferential parking
permitsmay be issued:
Durness Street from Trojan Way to Sunset Avenue, Northside
and from Conlon Avenue to Sunset Avenue, Southside.
Conlon Avenue from Durness Street to a point 600'.South
of Durness Street, both sides.
