• AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 20-40(a)
OF THE WEST COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
PARKS AND RECREATION IN REFERENCE TO SUBDIVISION'
REGULATIONS.
WHEREAS, Section 66477 of the State Subdivision Map Act was
revised effective January 1, 1983, to base the dedication and/or
fees required with a subdivision for parks and recreation purposes
on the projected subdivision population and a dedication ratio for
nark and recreation area of three acres per 1,000 residents; and
WHEREAS, the current Section 20-40(a) of the West Covina
Municipal Code does not conform to the new basis for computing
the dedication and/or fees required with a subdivision for parks
and recreation purposes; and
WHEREAS, it is the City's desire to revise Section 20-40(a)
of the West Covina Municipal Code to conform.with the Section 66477
of the State Subdivision Map Act.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina
does hereby ordain as follows:
isSECTION 1. Section 20-40(a) of the West Covina Municipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
(a) Dedications for parks and recreation shall be
three acres per 1,000 residents of the sub-
division. The number of residents of the sub-
division for purposes of this section shall be
the product of the average household size in
the city as disclosed by the most recent
available federal census and the number of
housing units in the subdivision.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this ordinance, shall cause it to be published as required by law,
and shall send a certified copy to the County Engineer of Los
Angeles County.
