AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE WEST COVINA
MUNICIPAL CODE CHAPTER 26, ARTICLE XI, SECTION
26-609 AS IT RELATES TO OUTDOOR DISPLAY AND SALE OF
MERCHANDISE. (Amendment No. 177)
. The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1: Chapter 26, Article XI, Section 26-609 is hereby amended
to read as follows:
Section 26-609. Same - Promotional Event; Shopping Center/
Department Store
a. The outdoor display and sale of merchandise and temporary
signs relating thereto during special promotional events
conducted wholly on private property may be permitted for
any shopping center or department store.
b. No more than three (3) such events shall be permitted in
any.calendar year.
C. No such event shall be permitted to start within 21 days
of the end of the previous such event.
d. No more than a total of 12 days shall be permitted for
such events in any calendar year (an average of four (4)
days for three (3) events).
e. No such event shall exceed six (6) consecutive days.
sSECTION 2: 'The City Council finds and determines that said amendment
to the Municipal Code is a minor modification to the City's Zoning
Ordinance and is, therefore, categorically exempt (Class 5) from the
requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act of 1970 (CEQA).
SECTION.3: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance
and shall cause the same to be published as required by law.
