AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE WEST COVINA
MUNICIPAL CODE CHAPTER 26, ARTICLE III, SECTION
26-153, AS IT RELATES TO THE INITIATION OF
AMENDMENTS TO CHAPTER 26 OF THE WEST COVINA
MUNICIPAL CODE. (Amendment No. 175).
• The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain as follows:
SECTION NO. 1: Chapter 26, Article III, Section 26-153, is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Section 26-153 - Initiation of Amendments
(a) Amendments of this chapter and/or the official zoning
map that change any property from one zone to another
may be initiated by:
1. The verified application of one or more owners of
property proposed to be changed or reclassified,
or by a purchaser or lessee with consent of the
owner.
2. Resolution of the City Council
3. Resolution of the Planning Commission.
(b) Amendments, supplements or changes to this chapter
other than the change of property from one zone to
another may be initiated by:
1. Resolution of the City Council.
• 2. Resolution of the Planning Commission.
SECTION 2: The City Council finds and determines that said amendment
to the Municipal Code is a minor modification to the City's Zoning
Ordinance and is, therefore, categorically exempt (Class 5) fromthe
requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act of 1970 (CEQA).
SECTION 3: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by law.
