E OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 22-184
COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
OF COMMERCIAL VEHICLES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA
DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION ONE. The West Covina Municipal Code
Chapter 22 entitled "Traffic Regulations" is hereby amended
by revising Section 22-184 to read as follows:
Sec 22-184 *Parking of Commercial Vehicles Regulated.
(a) No operator of any commercial vehicle
having a manufacturer's gross vehicle weight
rating of 10,000 pounds or more shall stop, stand,
park or leave standing such vehicle in any of the
following places:
(1) On any city street, or .portion
thereof, in a residential district.
(2) On any city street, or portion
• thereof, except a designated truck route, in
a nonresidential district when signs are in
place giving notice thereof.
(3) On any designated truck route,
or portion thereof, in a nonresidential
district, for more than two (2) consecutive
hours, when signs are in place giving notice
thereof.
(b) This section shall not apply to any
vehicle owned by a public utility or a licensed
contractor while necessarily in use in the con-
struction, installation or repair of any public
utility or to any commercial vehicle making
pickups or deliveries of goods, wares, and mer-
chandise from or to any building or structure
located on the restricted street or delivering
materials to be used in the actual and bona fide
repair, alteration, remodeling, or construction of
any building or structure upon the restricted
street for which a building permit has previously
been obtained.
(c) The traffic authority is authorized to
• install and maintain signs, as necessary, to give
the notice required by this section.
SECTION TWO. If any section, subsection, sentence,
clause, phrase, part or portion of this Ordinance is for any
reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by any court
of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect
the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance.
The City Council declares that it would have adopted this
Ordinance and each section, subsection, sentence, clause,
phrase, part of portion thereof, irrespective of the fact
that any one or more sections, subsections, clauses, phrases,
parts or portions be declared invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION THREE. The Mayor shall sign and City
Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this
Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published in the
manner prescribed by law.
