ORDINANCE NO. 1512
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA AMENDING
THE MUNICIPAL CODE IN RELATION TO PURCHASING
PROCEDURES
The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain as
follows:
SECTION.]. Section 2-330 of the West Covina Municipal Code
is amended to add the following:
"With respect to those bids relating to the purchase of items
subject to state sales tax, the term 'lowest responsible bidder,' shall be
deemed to include a one percent discount for local vendors in the computation
of bids in order to reflect the advantages that accrue to the City by the
award of bid too -a local vendor."
SECTION 2. The provisions of this ordinance shall take effect
30 days after adoption.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this ordinance and cause the same to be published in the manner required by
law.
