AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE.
CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AMEND-
ING ARTICLE V. DIVISION 3, SECTION 2-248
(a) OF THE WEST COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE,
RELATING TO THE PROBATIONARY PERIOD FOR
LATERAL ENTRY POLICE OFFICERS.
The City Council of the City.of West Covina does ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1. Article V, Division 3, Section 2-248 (a) is
amended to read as follows:
"With the exception of Police Officers all
original and promotional appointments shall
be for a probationary period of one year.
All original and. promotional appointments
to the position of Police Officer (except-
ing lateral entry appointments) shall be
for a probationary period of eighteen (18)
months. Lateral entry Police Officer ap-
pointments shall be for a probationary
period of one year."
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as
required by law.
