AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL.OF THE
CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING
THE WEST COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING
. CHAPTER 26, ARTICLE VII, DIVISION 1,
SECTION 26-303 RELATING TO ATTACHED SIGNS
IN ALL ZONES. (Amendment No. 161)
The City Council of the City of West Covina does
ordain as follows:
SECTION l: Section 26-303 of the West Covina
Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
26-303 ATTACHED SIGNS
(a) Except as otherwise specifically
provided in this Article, all signs,
advertising, identifying, reader boards,
or any other type, shall be attached
signs.
(b) All attached signs must be flat against,
and project no further than eighteen
(18) inches from the building or struc-
ture and shall not extend above the top
of the wall except when it is located
on the mansard portion of a mansard
• roof,- in which case the sign shall not
be permitted to extend above the roof
line of the mansard roof; must be con-
structed of metal, wood, or comparable
waterproof material; and bird and vermin
proof.
SECTION 2: The City Council.finds and determines
that said amendment to the Municipal_ Code is a minor modification
to the City's Zoning Ordinance and is, therefore, categorically
exempt (Class 5) from the requirements of the California Environ-
mental Quality Act of 1970 (CEQA).
SECTION 3: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as re-
quired by law.
