AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING
ARTICLE X, CHAPTER I, SECTION 10701 TO
CLARIFY THE LIMITATIONS ON PERMITTED USES
ON RESIDENTIAL - AGRICULTURAL AND ONE FAMILY
ZONES AND DECLARING THE URGENCY THEREOF
AND PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL
TAKE EFFECT IMMEDIATELY.
The City Council of the City of West Covina, does ordain
a.s follows:
SECTION 1. Part VII of Chapter I of Article X of .the
West Covina. Municipa.l Code is hereby amended by the a.ddition of
the following to Section 10701.
"No building or improvement or portion thereof
shall be erected, constructed, converted,
established, altered or enlarged nor shall
any lot or premise be used except for one
or more of the following purposes."
SECTION 2. That this ordinance is hereby declared
an urgency measure and will take effect immediately upon its
adoption. A statement of f,a.cts constituting the ba.sis for the
urgency of this ordinance is a.s follows:
"That the District Attorney's office of the
• County of Los Angeles ha.s requested this
addition to clarify land use limitations in
the single family residential zone. That
without the immediate adoption of this
ordinance certain cases pending action will
by unduly delayed thus continuing the alleged
zoning violations to the detriment of the
health, safety and general welfare of the
City of West Covina. That this ordinance
is, therefore, necessary for the immediate,
preservation of the public peace, health
and safety."
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this ordinance and cause the same to be published in the manner
prescribed by law.
