AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA ADOPTING BY REFERENCE ARTICLE X,
CHAPTER 1 OF THE WEST COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE
THEREBY REVISING AND RECODIFYING THE PROVISIONS
OF CHAPTER 2 OF ARTICLE IX THEREOF, RELATING TO
ZONING AND LAND USE. (Amendment No: 136)
The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1. There is hereby adopted by reference Article X,
Chapter 1 of the West Covina Municipal Code revising and recodifying
the provisions thereof regulating land use through zoning and
prescribing the procedures to be followed in the administration and
implementation of the land use plan. Not less than three copies of
Article X, Chapter 1 of the West Covina Municipal Code, as so
revised and recodified are now filed in the office of the City Clerk
and except as otherwise provided herein, the same is hereby adopted
and incorporated in the West Covina Municipal Code as fully as if
set out at length herein.
SECTION 2. Chapter 2 of Article IX of the West Covina
Municipal Code consisting of Parts 1 through 33 inclusive, is hereby
repealed and is superseded by Article X, Chapter 1 of the West Covina
Municipal Code which is a revision and recodification of that portior'V
of the West Covina Municipal Code which is repealed by this Section.
• Article X, Chapter 1 of the West Covina Municipal Code shall be
construed to be a continuation of the provisions of Chapter 2 of
Article IX of the West Covina Municipal Code and not as a new
enactment.
SECTION 3. The City Council does hereby find that the
Negative Declaration of Environmental Impact for the revision and
recodification of the zoning and land use portions of the West Covina
Municipal Code as adopted by the Planning Commission after notice of
public hearing, is adequate, has been prepared in accordance with
the California Environmental Quality Act of 1970 and the State Guide-
lines, and is hereby adopted by the City Council.
SECTION 4. The City Council does hereby find, determine and
declare that the revision and recodification of the provisions of
the West Covina Municipal Code relating to zoning and land use was
duly initiated, that notice of hearing thereon was duly given and
published, that public hearings thereon were duly held by the Planning
Commission and the City Council and that -the public convenience,
necessity and general welfare and good zoning practices require that
the revision and recodification of Chapter 2 of Article IX of the
West Covina Municipal Code be adopted.
SECTION 5. The•City Council does hereby find and declare
that the revision and recodification of'the provisions of Chapter 2
of Article IX of the West Covina Municipal Code as contained in
100 Article X, Chapter 1 of the West Covina Municipal Code which is adopted
by reference by this Ordinance, is consistent.with the General Plan
of the City of West Covina.and will have no significant impact on
the environment.

Section 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required
by law.

meeting of the City Council on the 25th day of April 1977,
