AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA AMENDING SECTIONS 2321, 2322,
2331, AND 2405 OF THE WEST COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE
RELATING TO CITY BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 2321 of the West Covina Municipal Code is
amended to read:
"2321. APPOINTMENTS.
The Recreation and Park Commission members shall be citizens of
the City appointed by the City Council. At least one of the members of the
Commission shal I be a female. In the appointment of one of the members,
the City Council shall solicit, and if received shall consider, the recom-
mendation of the -West Covina Unified School District."
SECTION 2. Section 2322 of the West Covina Municipal Code is
amended to read:
"2322. TERMS OF OFFICE AND REMOVAL.
Members of the Commission shall be appointed by resolution of
the City Council for staggered three-year terms ending on July 1. By
resolution, the City Council may remove a member of the Commission from
office during the term for which he was appointed with or without cause."
SECTION 3. Section 2331 of the West Covina Municipal Code is
amended to read:
"2331. TERMS OF OFFICE AND REMOVAL.
The members of the Planning Commission shall be appointed by
resolution of the City Council for four-year staggered terms. Each member
shall hold office after the expiration of his term and until his successor is
appointed and qualified. By resolution, the City -Council may remove a
member of the Commission from office during the term for which he was
appointed with or without cause."
SECTION 4. Section 2405 of the West Covina Municipal Code is
amended to read:
"2405. APPOINTMENT AND REMOVAL.
A majority vote of the City Council shall be required to appoint
a Personnel Board member or to remove any member of the Board prior to the
expiration of his term with or without cause."
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by law.
