ORDINANCE NO. 1299
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA AMENDING SECTIONS 9210.2(q)13, 9211.2(q)20,
9212.8(q)21, 9213.8(q)21, 9227.2(q)21, 9212.1(c)21,
9213.1(b)21, 9214.5 21, and 9214A.2(q)14 OF THE WEST
COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO PARKING DIRECTIONAL
SIGNS. (Amendment No. 133)
The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1. Sections 9210.2(q)13, 9211.2(q)20, 9212.8(q)21,
9213.8(q)21, 9227.2(q)21, 9212.1(c)21, 9213.1(b)21, 9214.5 21 and
9214A.2(q)14 of the West Covina Municipal Code are each amended to
read as follows:
"A parking directional sign shall be allowed at each major
entrance to a parking lot, provided such sign shall not exceed
four feet in height and.not to exceed eight square feet per
face. The primary wording and logo to be placed on the sign
shall be the word 'parking' with an arrow in the direction
of the parking spaces and may be followed by the name of the
business for which the principle parking is being provided
as determined by the owner.
A parking directional sign shall be located within a
minimum twenty-four square foot landscaped planter surrounded
by a six inch concrete curb. No parking directional sign shall
be constructed without the prior approval of the Planning
Director and shall be based upon his determination as.to.the
need for the sign."
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required
by law.

introduced and placed upon its first reading at a regular meeting of
the City Council on the 22nd day of March , 1976. That, there-
after, said ordinance was duly adopted and passed at a regular meeting
of the City Council on the 12th day of April , 1976, by the
