ORDINANCE NO. 1284
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA AMENDING THE WEST COVINA MUNICIPAL
CODE SO AS TO REZONE CERTAIN PREMISES (Zone
Change Application No. 494 - City Initiated).
The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council does hereby find, determine
and declare that the following zone changes and amendments were duly
initiated, that notice of hearing thereon was duly given and published,
that public hearings thereon were duly held by the Planning Commission
and by the City Council and that the public convenience, necessity
and general welfare and good zoning practice require that the follow-
ing zone changes and amendments be made.
SECTION 2. The West Covina Municipal Code is hereby
amended by the addition thereto of a new Section 9202.2cf reading
as follows:
"9202.2cf. Zone Changes. Notwithstanding the provisions
of Section 9202.2b and the zoning map referred to therein,
the following premises are hereby placed and included in the
Open Space (O-S) Zone, to wit:
Those certain parcels of land owned by the City of
West Covina and used for public park and recreation
purposes and generally described as follows:
California Mini-Parkette
Cameron Park
Del Norte Park
Friendship Park
Orangewood Park
Palm View Park
Walmerado Park
Cortez Park
Galster Park & Baseball
Park
851 S. California
1305 E. Cameron
1500 W. Rowland
3740 S. Sentous
1615 W. Merced
1340 E. Puente
625 E. Merced
2441 E. Cortez
1620 Aroma
Said parcels of land are more specifically described
in Zone Change Application No. 494 to which reference is
hereby made."
SECTION 3. The City Council does hereby find and declare
that the development of the parcels of property described in Section 2
hereof in accordance with the provisions of the Open Space (O-S) Zone
will enhance the environment of the area and that the rezoning of said
parcels of property to the Open Space (O-S) Zone is categorically exempt
under the California Environmental Quality Act of 1970 and the State
Guidelines and the categorical exemption is hereby approved.
SECTION 4. The City Council does hereby find and declare
that the zone changes for the property described in Section 2 hereof
is consistent with the General Plan of the City of West Covina and with
the open space element of that plan.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required
by law.

regular meeting of the City Council on the 22nd day of December ,
1975, by the following vote, to wit:
