AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA, RELATING TO CLAIMS AGAINST THE CITY
OR ITS OFFICERS OR EMPLOYEES.
. The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain
asfollows:
SECTION 1. Section 2920 of the West Covina Municipal
Code is amended to read:
"2920. Claims for Money or Damages.
As a prerequisite to bringing suit against the City of
West Covina., or it9,1 officers or employees, any claims
against the City for money or damages as set forth
below, or for money and damages which are not governed
by any other statutes or regulations expressly relating
thereto, shall be presented and acted upon in accordance
with Title 1, Division 3.6, Part 3, Chapter 1 (commencing
with Section 900) and Chapter 2 (commencing with Section
910) of the Government Code of California:
(a.) Claims by the State or by a state department or
agency or by another public entity.
(b) Claims for fees, salaries or wages, additional
compensation for services rendered, mileage or
other expenses and allowances.
• (c) Applications and claims for money or benefits under
the Public Employees Retirement System or any other
retirement system, not governed by any other statutes
or regulations expressly relating to the presentation
of such applications or cia.ims."
SECTION 2. Sections 2921 and 2922 of the West Covina
Municipal Code are repealed.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required
by law.
