AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE ANNEXATION
TO, INCORPORATING IN, AND MAKING A PART OF SAID
CITY OF WEST COVINA, CERTAIN TERRITORY OUTSIDE THE
SAID CITY AND CONTIGUOUS THERETO, KNOWN AS "SOUTHERLY
ANNEXATION NO. 216".
WHEREAS, on the 24th day of November, 1971, the Local
Agency Formation Commission of the County of Los Angeles approved
the annexation to the City of West Covina of the territory described
in Section 1 hereof and authorized the City to proceed with the
annexation without notice, hearing and election pursuant to Section
54797.1 of the Government Code, and
WHEREAS, the owner of the land within the territory des-
cribed in Section 1 hereof has filed with the City Clerk, its consent
in writing to such annexation, and
I WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of West Covina has
determined that the annexation to the City of West Covina of the
territory described in Section 1 hereof is in the best interest of
the City and the owner of said territory;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West
Covina does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. The annexation to the City of West Covina
of the territory hereinafter described, the boundary description of
which has been approved by the County Engineer of the County of Los
Angeles and the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County.of
Los Angeles, and which territory was designated .in the resolution of
the Local Agency Formation Commission as "Southerly Annexation No.
216", be and the same is hereby annexed to, incorporated in and made
a part of the City of West Covina, to wit:
Those portions of Lots 303, 317 and Francisquito Avenue,
60.00 feet wide, as shown on map of E. J. Baldwin's Fifth
subdivision of a portion of Rancho La Puente, in the County
of Los Angeles, State of California, filed in Book 12, pages
134 and 135 of Maps on file in the office of the County
Recorder of said County, described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the Northerly line of said
Francisquito Avenue with the Northerly prolongation of the
most Easterly line of Tract No. 19730, as shown on map filed
in Book 533, pages 41 and 42 of said Maps; thence Easterly
along said Northerly line to the boundary of the City of West
Covina, as existed on August 1, 1971; thence Southerly along
said boundary to the centerline of said Francisquito Avenue;
thence Westerly along said centerline to a line parallel with
and 30.00 feet Westerly, measured at right angles, from the
Easterly lines of said Lots 303 and 317; thence Southerly a-
long said parallel line to the Southerly line of said Lot
317; thence Westerly along said Southerly line to the South-
easterly corner of said tract; thence Northerly along said
most Easterly line and its Northerly Prolongation to the
point of beginning.
Said territory shall be designated as "Southerly Annexation No. 216".
SECTION 2. The territory hereby annexed to the City of
West Covina shall be a part of the City for all purposes from the
date of the filing with the County Recorder of the County of Los
Angeles of the affidavit of the completion of the annexation pro-
ceedings provided for in Section 34080 and 34081 of the Government
Code.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required
by law. Upon the effective date of this ordinance, the City Clerk
shall file a certified copy thereof with the Secretary of State of
the State of California and after such certified copy has been so
filed and the Certificate of the Secretary of State certifying to
its filing has been received by the City of West Covina, the City
Clerk shall file with the County Recorder of the County of Los
Angeles the affidavit and documents required by Sections 34080 and
34081 of the Government Code and shall file a certified copy of the
map and boundary description of the annexed territory with the County
Engineer and the County Assessor of the County of Los Angeles and
with the State Board of Equalization of the State of Calfifornia and
the Census Bureau of the United States government.

of the City Council on the 24th day of January , 1972, by the
