AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WEST COVINA, REPEALING SECTION 8147.2 OF,
AND AMENDING SECTIONS 8147.3 AND 8147.6 OF,
THE WEST COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO
ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 8147.2 of the West Covina Municipal
Code is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2. Section 8147.3 of said code is amended to
read:
8147.3 Single Family Dwellings:

"Service conductors shall have sufficient ampacity
to carry the load, except that no single family
residence shall have less than a 125 ampere service
panel, 1 1/2-inch service riser, 100 ampere service
conductors, and a main switch or circuit breaker of.
100 ampere capacity. The service panel shall have a
minimum of 16 single pole overcurrent protective
devices with no more than one-half of these to be
one-half size."
SECTION 3. Section 8147.6 of said code is amended to
8147.6 Spare Raceways:
"On all three wire flush -mounted services for one
and two family dwellings, spare raceways for future
use shall be provided as follows: one 3/4 inch to
an accessible location in the attic, and one 1-inch
to an accessible location under.fthe;f.loor. Where
space is not available, then such termination of
spare raceways shall be approved by the Building
and Safety Director."
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by
law.
