AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA
APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA OF CERTAIN INHABITED TERRITORY
DESIGNATED AS "WEST COVINA SOUTHERLY
ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 213" PURSUANT TO A
SPECIAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID TERRITORY ON
AUGUST 24, 1971.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the "Annexation Act of 1913", and
pursuant to Resolution No. 4386 adopted by the City Council of the
City of West Covina on the 14th day of June, 1971, a special election
was held on the 24th day of August, 1971, in that certain inhabited
territory contiguous to the City of West Covina designated as "West
Covina Southerly Annexation District No. 213" and which is hereinafter
more particularly described; and
WHEREAS, at said special election the question of the
annexation of said territory to the City of West Covina was submitted
to the qualified electors residing in said territory; and
WHEREAS, it appears from the canvass of the returns of the
votes cast at said special election that a majority of all votes cast
in said territory on the question of said Annexation favor annexation
upon the terms contained in the question submitted; and
WHEREAS, it appears that said special election and all pro-
ceedings relating thereto have been conducted strictly in accordance
with law;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of West Covina
does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. That the annexation of that certain inhabited
territory contiguous to the City of West Covina designated as "West
Covina Southerly Annexation District No. 213" be and the same hereby
is approved. Said territory is described as follows:
That portion of Lot 116 of Tract No. 930, in the
County of Los Angeles, State of California, as per
map filed in book 17, pages 38 and 39 of Maps on file
in the office of the County Recorder of said County,
described as follows:
Beginning at the most northerly corner of Lot 58
of Tract No. 19658, as per map filed on August 11,
1954 in book 524, pages 8 through 11 inclusive,
of Maps on file in the office of said County
Recorder; thence North 10 OAF' 00" East, 30.00 feet
to the centerline of Vine Avenue, 60.00 feet wide,
as shown on map of said Tract No. 19658, said
centerline being the boundary of the City of West
Covina,, as same existed on November 1, 1970; thence
Easterly along said centerline to a point that is
North 880 56, 15" West, 819.99 feet from the centerline
intersection of Vine Avenue, 60.00 feet wide, and
• Citrus Street, 70.00 feet wide, as said centerline
intersection is shown on map of Tract No. 24157,
filed on April 18, 1960 in book 654, pages 89 and 90
of Maps on file in the office of said County Recorder,
said point being the most northwesterly corner of
"West Covina Southerly Annexation District No. 163",
adopted as City of West Covina Ordinance No. 629 on
June 8, 1959 and certified by the Secretary of State
of the State of California on July 8, 1959; thence
along said "West Covina Southerly Annexation District
No. 163" through the following described courses:
South 10 04' 00" West, 30.00 feet, South 240 25' 30"
East, 368.17 feet, South 590 40' 00" East, 372.63 feet,

East,160.31 feet, less to the southwesterly line of

Citrus Street, 60.00 feet wide, said southwesterly
line also being the southwesterly boundary of "Easterly
Addition Number Three", adopted as City of West Covina
Ordinance No. 123 on May 22, 1946, and certified by
the Secretary of State of the State of California
on June 27, 1946,'as shown on map of Tract No. 13892,
filed in book 284, pages 47 through 50 inclusive, of
Maps in the office of said County Recorder; thence
Southeasterly along said southwesterly boundary of
"Easterly Addition Number Three" to the intersection
of the easterly line of Tract No. 29080 as per map
filed in book 728, pages 41 through 44 inclusive, of
Maps in the office of said County Recorder; thence
Southerly, Southwesterly, Westerly, Northerly and
Westerly along the boundary of said Tract No. 29080
through the following described courses: South
30 55' 00" West, 788.69 feet, South 350 00' 00" West,
675.00 feet, North 750 00' 00" West, 275.00 feet,
North 190 38' 38" West, 531.18 feet and South 730 30' 00"
West, 20.66 feet to the southwesterly corner of Lot
10 of said Tract No. 29080, said last mentioned
corner also being the southeasterly corner of Lot 126
of Tract No. 29957 as per map filed in book 728,
pages 35 through 40 inclusive, of Maps in the office
of said County Recorder; thence Westerly along the
southerly boundary of said Tract No. 29957, the
following described courses: South 730 30' 00" West,
479.34 feet, North 850 00' 00" West, 320.00 feet,
North 450 00' 00" West, 660.00 feet, North 130 00' 00"
West, 140.00 feet, South 830 00' 00" West, 560.00 feet,
South 520 22' 09" West, 666.17 feet and West, 600.00
feet to the easterly boundary of Tract No. 21425,
as per map filed in book 594, pages 48, 49 and 50
of Maps in the office of said County Recorder, said
easterly boundary also being the easterly boundary
of "West Covina Annexation District No. 130", adopted
as City of West Covina Ordinance No. 396 on May 23,
1955 and certified by the Secretary of State of the
State of California on June 27, 1955; thence Northerly
and Easterly along the westerly and northerly boundaries
of said Tract No. 29957, the following courses: North
300 22" 30" East, 100.03 feet, North 20 05' 30" West,
240.77 feet, North 290 32' 30" West, 155.29 feet, North
lo° 06' 30" East, 355.45 feet, North 500 23' 20" West,
30.25 feet, North 60° 33, 40" East, 508.38 feet and
North 490 17' 20" East, 153.01 feet to the most easterly
corner of Lot 46 of said Tract No. 19658; thence
Northwesterly, Northerly, Westerly and Northerly along
the easterly boundary of said Tract No. i9658 to the
point of beginning.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by
law. Upon the operative date of this ordinance, the City Clerk shall
file a certified copy thereof with the Secretary of State of the State
of California. and after such certified copy- has been so filed and the
Certificate of the Secretary of State certifying to its filing has been'
received by the City of West Covina, the City Clerk shall file with the
County Recorder of the County of Los Angeles the affidavit and documents

required by Sections 34080 and 34081 of the Government Code and shall
file a certified copy of the map and boundary description of the annexed
territory with the County Engineer and the County Assessor of the
• County of Los Angeles and with the State Board of Equalization of the
State of California and the Census Bureau of the United States
government.
