ORDINANCE NO. 1158
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA AMENDING SECTIONS 8120 AND 8121, AND
REPEALING SECTION 8122 OF THE WEST COVINA MUNICIPAL
CODE, RELATING TO THE ADOPTION OF THE UNIFORM
PLUMBING CODE, 1970 EDITION, AND MAKING CERTAIN
CHANGES THEREIN REQUIRED TO MEET LOCAL CONDITIONS.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 8120 of the West Covina Municipal Code
is amended to read:
118120. PLUMBING CODE ADOPTED. 1970 EDITION.
A certain document, three copies of which are on file in
the office of the City Clerk, being marked and designated as
'Uniform Plumbing Code, 1970 Edition', is hereby adopted as the
Plumbing Code of the 'City for the protection of the public
health and safety, requiring a permit for the installation or
alteration of plumbing, gas, and drainage systems, creating
an administrative office, defining certain terms, establishing
minimum regulations for the installation, alteration or repair
of plumbing, gas and drainage systems and the inspection thereof,
and providing penalties for its violation; and the same is hereby
made a part hereof as if fully set out in this Part."
SECTION 2. Section 8121 of said Code is amended to read:
"8121. AMENDMENTS.
Section 1.12 of said Uniform Plumbing Code is amended by
amending the Schedule of Fees contained therein to read:

For each plumbing fixture or trap or set of
fixtures on one trap (including water,
drainage piping and backflow protection

For each industrial waste pre-treatment interceptor,
including its trap and vent, excepting kitchen
type grease interceptors functioning as

piping and/or water treating equipment -------------- 1.50
For repair or alteration of drainage or vent
Piping---------------------------------------------- 1.50
For each lawn sprinkler system on any one meter
including backflow protection devices,therefor------ 2.00
For vacuum breakers or backflow protective devices
on tanks, vats, etc. or for installation on
unprotected plumbing fixtures including necessary

For private swimming pool plumbing inspection ------- $10.00
For commercial swimming pool plumbing inspection---- 20.00
SECTION 3. Section 8122 of the West Covina Municipal Code is
hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by
1 aw .
