AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST COVINA ADDING SECTION 5103 TO THE WEST COVINA
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE DISPOSAL OF MEDICINES AND
OF SINGLE -SERVICE SYRINGES, HYPODERMIC NEEDLES AND
SIMILAR DEVICES.
The City Council of the City of West Covina does ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 5103 is hereby added to the West
Covina Municipal Code to read:
"5103. DESTRUCTION OF MEDICATION AND SYRINGES.
It shall be unlawful for any person to dispose
of any medication which is in pill, tablet or
capsule form by depositing it in any trash or
refuse container.
It shall be unlawful for any person to dispose
of any syringe, hypodermic needle or any similar
device by depositing it in any refuse or trash
container, if at the time of such deposit, it is
capable of being used for the injection of any
substance into the body of a human being."
• SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as
required by law.
